Visit with kids: Do arrive around the middle of the day on Saturday / Sunday. Try ringing the handbells. Watch & take part in the Black Adder Morris Dancing. This is fun for all. Visitors - especially with interested young children - find delight taking part in this. Accompanied/supervised youngsters are also welcomed at the 9am Sat workshop to learn to play the pan pipes. Watch your kids enjoying it. Then perhaps trying easy dancing around the Maypole - YOU have a try ! And you may eat‐out with us too; share our varied menu !
SATURDAY AFTERNOON 1:30pm. An opportunity for ANY beginner music players bringing any instrument to "Join the Band".
We wish to pass on the active traditions of folk dance, music & song. The prices are structured to encourage parents & grandparents to bring along children - together with their friends - to discover the joy to be found in the folk activities, dance and music available. The Maypole, the Border Morris and the Handbell Ringing make mid Saturday & mid Sunday ideal for visits. **
Children 16 and under are free throughout (if accompanied by a paying, participating supervisory adult). But from visiting supervising adults just watching a young child - (eg Maypole or Morris dancing) a minimum token of £1 per child per workshop is appreciated. (£2 per child per completed workshop is perhaps a more appropriate contribution by the adult spectator of fully participating 11 to 16 year olds.) Accompanied/supervised youngsters and adults also are welcomed at the 9am Sat workshop to learn to play the pan pipes. Young persons take part free at any workshop/s with their own responsible paying adult.
