Whyever leave dates with "to be announced"? Surely that guy can get a band booked for then ! ! ?
A forming-band needs a few opportunities: likewise those "new" callers yet to attain status of recognition. You may reckon - despite life's uncertainties - to know where YOU will be based in 6 or 12 months' time !
Many in full-time education or research are able to plan around FEW such certainties!
May Contra-dancing's versatility continue to unite those thankful that "they still are just about able" -
with wonderful fresh musical & dance dynamism from some bands/callers yet to become recognised.
And may our brilliant established Contra bands and callers long continue!
