Spectacular, friendly visitors in 2014.
- 2014 was our 31st year - We Welcomed Dansgroep Oostzaan.
They shared their many Dutch -
dances with us at Great Alne Hall !
Also a workshop in full costume each day !
"Costume Catwalk" on Sunday evening !
And an occasional catchy Dutch song.
For general information about the group -
click
HERE for their "Page 3 in English".

Website is primarily in Dutch. Choose page 2 (NL flag): see who's still dancing.
Page 8: Dancers Costumes - each is from a different province: map shows locations.
Page 19: (count down the list) Regional Costumes as shown on Dutch cards.
Page 20: Regional Costumes as shown on Dutch Postage Stamps.
Group's website in Dutch is
HERE
. For English search translation in Bing or Google.

View some of their dancing in Holland here on 'you tube'.

The dancers: a merry baker's dozen from North Holland Province in the Netherlands -
wore stunning traditional costumes: sharing traditional & some recent Dutch dances. Thanks to Ineke, their superbly capable choreographer, we were challenged to join-in.

Who came to dance with us ? And to share their lovely Dutch Dances in April 2014 ?
It's particularly nice be reminded of the individuals who came from Holland to join us - most are still dancing.
- Their wonderful costumes too.  Best try alternative access to their homepage via auto-translation... it has quaint translated language; but gives a 'general idea'  in English about each person. (Read ALL their web pages too!)
For a photo of each person in the group individually - and details about them:
First you need to identify the group's relevant second page of their list. Click on this -
It may now show in translation as "Further acquaintance" even oddly, as "Waunifor".
Now continue with "translate" - and continue to read ALL the other interesting web pages.

A nice memory, if you enjoyed meeting them at Great Alne Memorial Hall last April.

NEXT, here's a brief slideshow of the group dancing in the Netherlands, prior to their visit to Great Alne in 2014 -
On behalf of those of us fortunate to have met with you, and to share your company:
THANK YOU Dansgroep Oostzaan
- for the ( all too brief ) opportunities to meet with you lovely people.
- to you all for coming to Great Alne.
- for showing us a wide and so excellent a range of your dances - superbly done!
May we express appreciation especially -

To Willy & Bert Blanes for their friendly contacts & superb organisation.
To Ineke van der Hilst for such lovely opportunities to share her brilliant choreography,
precise teaching and wonderful dance choices.
And Ad - what an ace webmaster you are - I need your skills here !
